The familiarization with the current problem of water
availability and the crisis in the supply and demand of water resources
and the acquisition of knowledge and experience in the application of
modern methods and techniques of water resources management within the
context of environmentally sustainable development.
After successfully attending the course the postgraduate
student should be capable of :
Conceiving the severity of water problems at
international, regional and local levels and recognizing their
relations to the more general environmental problems
Understanding the basic principles of sustainable
water management policies as well as their economic and social aspects
and recognizing and being familiar with the corresponding techniques
Dealing with and solving problems regarding the
exploitation, protection and rehabilitation of water systems in the
context of the holistic approach of ecosystems.
